Beal's Opera rope incorporates the latest UNICORE technology , until now reserved for semi-static ropes. Beal has managed to unite the core and the sheath of these dynamic ropes to limit the movements between the 2 parts, to optimize their operation. Dynamic strings that feature the UNICORE process swell less, are more flexible, more comfortable to play and last longer. By having a smoother sheath than a classic rope, friction on the carabiners and on the rock is reduced, resistance to abrasion is further improved and rope retrieval is much easier for effortless carabining. The climber really has the feeling of climbing with a much thinner and lighter rope, since the fluidity is greater and retains all the benefits of belaying with a larger diameter rope.

It has a Golden Dry treatment on each thread of the core and the sheath, a water-repellent chemical compound added before the rope is manufactured. This chemical compound polymerizes at high temperatures. The durability of this treatment is due to the polymerization, but also to the individual treatment of each thread before the rope is manufactured. A Golden Dry rope is a rope with a Dry treated core and a Dry Cover treated sheath .

The Opera 8.5 also has triple homologation for its use in single, double and twin, which will delight both expert climbers and mountaineers, who are looking for lightness, glide and safety, or who are looking for a versatile rope for routes through edges. or also for classic, mixed or snow routes.

Ultra-slippery and ultralight, it has been endowed with Golden Dry protection approved as UIAA Water Repellent , and the new Thermo Fluid technology , an infrared treatment that stabilizes and reinforces the homogeneity of the fibers of the sheath, resulting in a more compact and manageable rope.
